Groovis Maximus
Simony Antunes began her musical journey in 2012 Off the coast of Africa, as part of the Cape Verdean group, Raiz Terra. During this time, she recorded the hit song Mostran Luz, which gained
widespread acclaim in Cape Verde. Embarking on a solo career in 2018, she performed
at her college and captivated audiences at festivals, showcasing her talent, versatility,
and songwriting skills. In 2021, she signed with a recording label, and has a single" Its Over".
She joined several funk bands in 2023, culminating in her current role as a member of Groovis Maximus. With a voice that tells stories, a
talent for songwriting, and a stage presence that commands attention, Simony Antunes
continues to inspire and entertain.

Groovis Maximus brings high energy sound to classic songs from Funk, Soul, R&B and Jazz. Mixing songs from other styles follows the band's motto: "It Must Groove!" In fact it's from this premise that the band formed the name - Groovis Maximus

APJ has performed with Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight, Stokely of Mint Condition, Loose Ends, Javier, the Mary Jane Girls, the Brothers Johnson, Michael Henderson, Ray Parker, Jr. the Calloway Bros. and Slum Village just to name a few. “Big Nasty”, as he is affectionately known, has performed all over the world. We have recording artist, APJ on those occasions when he is not on tour.
